CHC Training Issues

The IT Support Group provides effective and targeted training for West Midlands CHCs.

This page offers information and resources related to training.

The IT Support Group is currently providing training via:

Informal on-site training by Garry Webb, our IT Support Officer
Informal training based at the offices of Wolverhampton CHC by Garry Webb, our IT Support Officer
Providing information on organised courses and also providing some funding where finances permit.
Informal workgroups based at Wolverhampton CHC are now underway and will continue on through to next year.

Any Chief Officer or member of staff from a West Midlands CHC who requires training should contact Garry Webb for more information on courses and possible funding by the IT Support Group.

May we ask CHCs to inform us of any training attended by their staff whether paid for by us or not so that we may monitor staff training levels.

The Group will consider all applications for course funding provided the user can provide sufficient cause to attend the course.

Courses will not be paid for retrospectively - you MUST apply for funding before applying and paying for the course.

Informal IT Workgroups a success!

Over the past year or so Garry Webb has been holding informal IT workgroups for staff at West Midlands CHCs at the offices of Wolverhampton CHC. The workgroups encompassed such topics as Microsoft Office 97, DTP, Internet and Pinpoint use and we have received good reports on their success. Based on how the workgroups were received Garry Webb will be running more of them mid to late July through September 1999 to provide the same training to more staff or to staff wishing a refresher. There will also be some new workgroups too including advanced Windows 95/98 maintenance.
